This is one of the more difficult games in the catalog. This player idea game was submitted asking to incorporate martial arts with fishing. The player has to read the shadow of the fish before choosing a stance. Each stance suits a different fish, and the How to Play screen shows each one against the fish it was made for. The fishing line will always fray and turn orange when it gets close to snapping. Discipline and timing are required for the patient fisherman to catch his bounty. The end of the game is to catch ten tonnes worth of fish, which is a measure of weight and not a count of fish. Select a stance and click the How to Play button to see tips for that stance. Can you figure out the best way to catch ten tonnes of fish?
There are 3 stances: Iron Ox, Crane Step, and Thunder Palm. There are 3 fish types: Heavy, Swift, and Savage. On the stance select screen, you will see the shadow of a fish. Observe the movement of the fish to determine which type of fish it is. Select a stance, and click the How to Play button on each stance for different tips. Each stance has a different reel method for pulling in a fish. On any stance the line turns orange when it is nearly going to snap. Each round brings another fish, and each fish caught will add to your total tonnes caught. Reach ten tonnes of total fish to end the game. Iron Ox is the most basic stance and you can reel until the line turns orange. Crane Step is the trickiest, and you need to release the reel the moment the fish thrashes and bubbles burst off its body. With Thunder Palm, you hold to build up the gold charge in the fisherman's hand, then release it when the fish thrashes. The gold card means it landed, and you can pull up until the charge runs out.
This anonymously submitted player game idea came in asking to use techniques inspired from martial arts combined with fishing. There has been a lot of traffic to the site from different countries, and I wanted to understand the culture behind what was being asked of me. I did some research in the hope of getting it right. The research is where the realms came from. In Chinese cultivation stories a fighter climbs through stages of power, so the fisherman climbs too. You start at Qi Refining and break through to Foundation, Golden Core and Nascent Soul as your total weight builds. The fish never get harder. What changes is you, and by the last realm every fish you land is worth triple. The type of fish and its strength decide which stance works best against it.

The tell to learn is the fish's shadow on the select stance screen. As seen in photo 1 below, the shadow is the fish towards the right bottom side of the screen. There is a large or heavy fish, a small or swift fish, and a medium sized savage fish. The stance you choose determines how easy it will be to pull up the fish. The most confusing stance is Crane Step. As seen in photo 2, when the fish thrashes and bubbles burst off its body, that is when you release the click button and stop reeling in. You also need to worry about the orange line fray at the same time. The other 2 stances are more straight forward.
