PROTECT THE HOUSE Tap the ground to build, then start the wave

PROTECT THE HOUSE

Route the enemies to where you want them to go, hurt them before they hurt you. This is no regular defense game. I classified this as a puzzle game and the hardest game on the site to date. This requires strategy along with trial-and-error to thoughtfully place the tiles to direct the horde. You control the outcome by directing the landscape and controlling the movement of the enemy.

How to play

Click on the tile item to place it on the board. A description of the item will appear on the top of the screen. Your available supplies are on the top right of the screen and each item costs a specific amount of supplies. Some of the items cause damage. There are other items, like water that block the path of the zombies and cause them to move a different way. The pit, lava, and laser all act differently. You can only build between waves and you have a set amount of base health. There is no healing, no way to cheat and no second chance. The economy matters here more than any other game so be careful. The game is not endless, instead it has 12 grueling rounds that test your ability to protect the house.

Behind the game

This was a player idea submitted on our contact page and at first I was on the fence because there is already a zombie defense game. However, this game evolved into something completely different. This does not allow the player to shoot, to have towers that shoot, have a panic button; the mechanics are completely different. This is way more than a place and watch; it involves careful strategy and to hope that you chose right.

Hints

Do I have any hints? Do you have any hints for me? This game is hard! I can give a few spoilers but honestly it took about 15 tries to get past round 3. I do not want to give away too much here because the game is made to be difficult. If you need to know what I used to get past round 3 it was water and lasers. Water can block off a path and force the zombies to go down 1 lane. A laser can deliver constant damage to a lane and can rotate. When I figured this out I had a good chance of getting further in the game. There are other elements that come on later such as the brute zombies who can do a bit more than the regular ones.
